Visitors to "The Lodge"

We have been in London for nearly six months...time is going by so quickly, we can hardly believe we have been here that long. Our time here has been highlighted by the family and friends who have come to visit us. It has been so nice to see some friendly faces, show them our home and neighborhood and share meals, drinks and laughs with them.

To all of you who have visited - THANK YOU! For those on their way (Altons next week, Mueller/Seals/Cady families in December!) we cannot wait to see you and have you here. To all of our family and friends, please know the door at "The Lodge" is always open to you. We are a lot cheaper than London hotels!

Here are some pictures of our most recent visitors. Trisha McDonnell and Sean Munster were here May 28-June 6. They stayed with their good friends Sean Phelan and Stacy Pratt. Our first afternoon together was spent having a lovely lunch at Fishworks. Then we walked around Covent Garden in search of Trisha's favorite brand of soap. Thanks to Trisha's online research we found it! The next day, Trisha and Sean were crazy enough to come over at 7:20 a.m. to walk the boys to school and spend the morning with me and Kate. Later that day John and I had the four of them over for dinner. We had a relaxing BBQ, a bit too much wine and many laughs. Thanks to Trisha and Sean we now know some other wonderful ex-pats and we look forward to spending more time with Stacy and Sean.


On June 14, we were happy to welcome some dear friends from Columbus, Ohio - Lisa Atkins and Bill Case. Lisa and Bill spent a week playing golf around Liverpool. Their weekend in London was strictly for relaxing - no early tee times! We had a great dinner at one of our favorite local haunts, The Duke of York, and after-dinner drinks at The Ordinance. We hope to have Lisa and Bill back here soon along with the rest of the gang from Columbus; Anne, Chuck, Terese, Tom, Danielle and Adam...c'mon over!
