We arrived back to Heathrow at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 17. The kids were terrific travelers but re-entry has been quite painful this week. The overnight flight has left us all dragging a bit. All of us were happy to see our own beds and I look forward to getting us all back on schedule. School starts on September 4, even for Kate! So we have a couple of weeks to readjust to the time zone and our life in London.
When we returned to "The Lodge" Nilda had left us a beautiful flower arrangement with "Welcome Home" note and a few groceries to hold us until the grocery delivery schedule got back on track. The kids were very excited to see Nilda and tell her all about our holiday in the states.
August in London is a balmy 66 degrees, cloudy and scattered rain.
In addition to missing our family and friends, we already miss: CHEETOS!, Dunkin Donuts coffee; Equal sugar sweetener; Wisconsin American Cheese (for grilled cheesers); Italian beef & sausage (combo baby!) sandwiches; ESPN; Target: driving and all that comes with it (radio, parking, convenience, etc.); and of course the Cubs on television!
We had a wonderful 3 week holiday - thank you to everyone who made our visit home so special. We have some wonderful memories and pictures we will cherish! We promise to get some up on our last entry soon...wow, we were crazy with the camera!
Cheers,
Team Mueller
