We Made It!

Well, we made it.

Our flight was slightly delayed but our wait was not bad and the kids had plenty to do thanks to the "airplane survival kits" from the Millers and the Kennedys!

Our flight was great - the kids did really well.  Jack and Owen thought it was "awesome" that they could watch movies, color and play games for 7 hours!  They were not at all bothered by the confinement of our seats...in fact, Jack did not get up once during the entire flight.  Kate even took two power naps and entertained the flight attendants and the passengers nearby.

The time change, however, has been a challenge.  The kids' body clocks are not adjusting to the London time zone and have been up until 2:00 a.m. the first two evenings, which led to a very late start to each day - they slept until 12:30 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.!!

We took a walk to our new house from our hotel, which is about a 25 minute walk with the kids and about a 10 minute walk without them.   But Garden Lodge is ready for us to move in and the kids were quite happy to see our new house.

On New Year's Eve day we took a long walk to the London Zoo at Regents Park.  It was a typical London day - cloudy, dark and chilly, but the zoo was great and the highlights include the playground and merry-go-round.

New Year's Eve for us will be a pizza party and a movie for the kids and maybe some champagne for Colleen and John, having survived yet another day of hotel living.

We have heard from our move coordinator that our air shipment should arrive on January 1!!! Whooohoooo!  Keep fingers crossed, prayers coming our way that we can move out of the Marriott and into Garden Lodge.

The other item accomplished was getting Colleen a mobile phone!!! Yeah!!

Cheers to all!!  Happy 2008.

Team Mueller -

I love the pictures. I can't wait to see the boys in their school uniforms eating toasted cheese and sipping tea! i'm glad to hear that the trip went well.

For everyone else, Hotwire is running a special on flights for $500 round trip.

I have been thinking about you all a lot this week and have only a few times started to call you in Barrington with some funny story or thing to share only to remind myself you aren't there!!! Glad the move so far is going well. The kids look so grown up in the glasses. We miss you. Love to all. Laura
